The Hermes Imager family of High Power Laser (HPL) diodes and bars enhances the performance of printing systems by reducing complexity and delivering cost savings and significant improvements in performance and reliability.

Hermes Imager laser diodes are compact units with powerful optical output. The high performance and modular form factor make them an excellent choice for the most demanding printing applications where speed, cost, and quality are paramount. The modules have been developed for use in next generation CtP machines across the performance spectrum, from low-cost systems processing small format plates (2up) to the latest large plate format machines.

Features of the Hermes Imager Family
Intense's patented Quantum Well Intermixing (QWI) technology delivers high reliability, superior brightness, and enhanced power levels. Available at common wavelengths such as 808nm and 980nm across a variety of packaging platforms, including single emitters, conductively cooled packages, and micro channel cooled packages, Hermes diodes enable print system developers to tailor solutions to their unique requirements. They operate reliably in continuous wave (CW), quasi-continuous wave (QCW), and pulsed modes.

The enhanced lifetimes available from Hermes Imager lasers reduce cost of ownership for customers utilizing this technology. Cost of ownership improvements combined with high brightness, improved beam quality and excellent electrical-to-light conversion efficiency optimize the use of wallplug energy. Additionally the reduced waste heat created during operation decreases the demands on systems to remove unwanted heat. The power ratings provide faster printing and better system performance.
