Optical parametric amplifier

The Palitra Series of optical parametric amplifiers (OPAs) from Quantronix delivers the widest gap-free tuning and highest conversion efficiency on the market. The Palitra is a white-light continuum seeded, collinear OPA and can be pumped by most femtosecond Ti:Sapphire amplifiers.

The most commonly used Palitra is the Palitra-FS, a femtosecond OPA. This Palitra model incorporates two stages of amplification with a BIBO crystal. This crystal has a similar damage threshold as the BBO, but is non-hygroscopic. This increases the robustness of the system. The higher non-linearity of this crystal allows achievement of the highest OPA conversion efficiency on the market (>40%). Its slightly wider optical transmission leads to a broader tunability.
